waiting

the jet lag is gone. that only took 12 days! it left just in time for me to take off on the next trip, which was fortunately not a disruptive time change. i am home again with just enough time to pack up my house to move out for upcoming renovations. so i really don't see any sewing in my near future.

i left my space pretty tidy, don't you think? whenever i do get to step back in here, i will be able to get right back to work. "groovy liberty" went on the last trip with me for i had high hopes of lots of beach time hand stitching. didn't happen. i held babies a lot instead, which was a fair trade.

the pressing table has "pinky stinky" still in 3 panels waiting on it, covered with items hastily dropped inside the door that need to find their homes.

"frosted forest star" is still sitting on original juki waiting for all the tension issues to be worked out so i can finish quilting the last "stella grande."

with a house to pack up, this room getting closed down, and 3 more trips upcoming, i am not hopeful for handling needles or fabric, completing projects, or being in this space until further notice. at the earliest, i won't be done travelling til july, but with this room sealed off from contractor dust and entry, i don't know how i will get around to any sewing until it opens back up sometime later this year. the contractor said the project will take 3-4 months, beginning in june, so i've got my fingers crossed we're back in the house by christmas because i know how contractor estimates go. there is always the probability that i will do some procrastisewing or distraction stitching in the middle of the imminent chaos, in which case i will pop back here for a report. pending that, i'm signing off for a while.

happy summer to those in the northern hemisphere, happy sewing to you who will be busy making.

see you when i can!
